Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Transport Fleet Assistant to join our bustling operations team in Ikoyi, Lagos. This vital role supports the efficient management and maintenance of our diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery services. As a Transport Fleet Assistant, you will play a crucial part in the day-to-day coordination of vehicle movements, record-keeping, and compliance. You will work closely with fleet managers, drivers, and maintenance teams to optimize fleet performance, minimize downtime, and uphold our high standards of service delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily coordination and scheduling of vehicle movements and driver assignments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fleet vehicles, including registration, insurance, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and mileage to ensure optimal efficiency and cost control.
- Process and reconcile invoices related to fuel, repairs, and other fleet expenses.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal maintenance teams for vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all local transportation laws and company policies.
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in conducting periodic fleet inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and meet safety standards.
- Support the onboarding and training of new drivers on fleet procedures and safety protocols.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and communication with relevant departments.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or administrative support roles.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operational processes.
- Proven ability to manage records and generate reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
