Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Logistics Clerk to join our bustling team in Jericho, Ibadan. This full-time role is fundamental to the smooth and efficient operation of our logistics processes, playing a critical part in ensuring the timely and accurate movement of goods. As a Transport Logistics Clerk, you will be the backbone of our operational flow, responsible for a wide array of tasks that support our transportation department and contribute directly to client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule transportation services, including route planning and vehicle assignment.
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, such as waybills, manifests, and customs forms.
  • Track and monitor shipments from dispatch to delivery, providing real-time updates and resolving transit issues.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, suppliers, and internal departments regarding logistics operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring data integrity in our logistics system.
  • Assist with inventory management and control, reconciling stock levels with transportation records.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and international shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or delays in shipments promptly.
  • Support the logistics team in various administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistical efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics, transportation, or supply chain role.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with logistics software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of local and regional transportation regulations in Nigeria.
  • Ability to speak multiple Nigerian languages (e.g., Yoruba) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced freight forwarding or distribution environment.
