Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Office Assistant to join our vibrant team in Ogbogoro, Port Harcourt. This full-time role is crucial for the smooth day-to-day running of our transport and logistics operations, ensuring that all vehicles, drivers, and deliveries adhere to schedules and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and driver logs.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating daily vehicle movements and driver assignments.
  • Prepare and process transport-related documentation, including waybills, invoices, and permits.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and clients regarding delivery schedules and updates.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing real-time updates and resolving any transit issues.
  • Assist with inventory management of vehicle parts and office supplies for the transport department.
  • Support the Transport Manager with administrative tasks, report generation, and data entry.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Handle incoming calls and correspondence related to transport operations.
  • Proactively identify and escalate potential operational challenges or delays to management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role, preferably within logistics or transportation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) or similar logistics software.
  • Knowledge of local transportation routes and regulations in Port Harcourt and Rivers State.
  • Previous experience interacting directly with drivers and external clients.
