Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement optimal transport plans and schedules for various modes of transportation.
- Analyze transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities, efficiency improvements, and service enhancements.
- Manage and optimize vehicle routing, load planning, and delivery sequencing to maximize utilization and minimize operational costs.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (e.g., warehousing, sales, customer service) and external carriers/partners.
- Monitor transport performance, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify and implement sustainable transportation solutions, contributing to environmental goals.
- Address and resolve operational issues, delays, or disruptions promptly and effectively, including contingency planning.
- Ensure compliance with national and international transport regulations and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and advanced planning software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in route optimization and logistics planning.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
- Valid Class B driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
- Experience with specific European logistics regulations and cross-border operations.
