Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and meticulous Travel Agent specializing in Booking & Itineraries to join our vibrant team in Ibrox, Glasgow. As a key member of our client-facing team, you will be instrumental in designing, planning, and executing unforgettable travel experiences for a diverse range of clients, from individual leisure travelers to small group adventurers. Your primary focus will be on understanding client preferences, crafting bespoke itineraries, and managing all aspects of the booking process with precision and efficiency.
You will be responsible for researching destinations, suggesting suitable travel options, and making reservations for flights, accommodations, transportation, and tours using various global distribution systems (GDS) and online booking platforms. A deep understanding of international travel regulations, visa requirements, and cultural nuances will be essential in providing accurate and valuable advice to our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Design and customize intricate travel itineraries tailored to individual client preferences and budgets.
- Book flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, tours, and other travel components using various booking systems (GDS, supplier portals).
- Provide expert advice on destinations, travel restrictions, visa requirements, health regulations, and local customs.
- Manage client inquiries, bookings, changes, and cancellations efficiently and professionally.
- Process payments and handle invoicing accurately, ensuring all financial transactions are correctly recorded.
- Maintain strong relationships with travel suppliers and negotiate favorable rates and terms.
- Proactively communicate with clients before, during, and after their trips to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new destinations, travel technologies, and relevant regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Travel Agent, specifically in booking and itinerary planning.
- Proficiency in at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Excellent knowledge of international travel regulations, airline rules, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
