Your day-to-day will involve a diverse range of tasks, including researching destinations, booking flights, accommodations, car rentals, and excursions, and providing expert advice on travel regulations, visas, and insurance. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget, designing customized travel packages.
- Research and book flights, accommodations, rental cars, cruises, tours, and other travel components using various booking systems.
- Provide expert advice on destinations, travel restrictions, visa requirements, vaccinations, and travel insurance.
- Develop and present detailed itineraries, ensuring all aspects of the trip are meticulously planned and confirmed.
- Handle client inquiries, resolve travel-related issues, and provide timely support before, during, and after trips.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel industry trends, new destinations, and supplier promotions.
- Process payments, manage bookings, and maintain accurate client records.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and travel industry partners.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to travel planning and client management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Travel Agent or in a similar role within the travel industry.
- Proficiency in using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Excellent knowledge of international travel regulations, visa requirements, and destination information.
- Proven sales and customer service skills with a client-centric approach.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and travel management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certification in Tourism, Hospitality, or Travel Management.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English and German.
- Experience with niche travel segments such as luxury travel, adventure travel, or group tours.
