Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budgets, offering expert advice on destinations, accommodations, transportation, and activities.
- Design and present compelling, customized travel itineraries and packages for both leisure and business travelers.
- Make reservations for flights, hotels, car rentals, tours, and other travel-related services, ensuring accuracy and optimal value.
- Process payments, manage bookings, and handle all necessary documentation (e.g., tickets, visas, insurance forms) with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel industry trends, destination information, visa requirements, and health advisories.
- Proactively resolve any issues or changes that may arise before, during, or after travel, providing exceptional customer support.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, aiming for repeat business and referrals.
- Collaborate with suppliers, airlines, hotels, and tour operators to secure the best rates and services.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators set by the company.
- Utilize travel booking software and CRM systems efficiently to manage client information and bookings.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Travel Consultant or similar role in the travel industry.
- Exceptional knowledge of popular domestic and international travel destinations, including Mozambique's unique offerings.
- Proficiency in using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo, or other relevant booking platforms.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English and Portuguese.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Certifications from IATA or other recognized travel associations.
- Experience with CRM software for client management.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Swahili) is a plus.
