Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget, offering tailored recommendations.
- Research, plan, and book travel arrangements including flights, accommodations, car rentals, tours, cruises, and other excursions.
- Provide comprehensive information on destinations, including culture, attractions, weather, local customs, and safety guidelines.
- Assist clients with visa applications, travel insurance, and necessary health requirements.
- Manage existing bookings, including modifications, cancellations, and rebooking, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Resolve travel-related issues, complaints, and emergencies promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate client records and manage booking documentation efficiently.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, destination updates, and travel regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, airlines, and accommodation providers.
- Process payments and manage invoicing, adhering to financial guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Travel Consultant or in a similar tourism support role.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in GDS (Global Distribution System) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of international travel regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to handle pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- IATA certification or equivalent travel industry recognized qualifications.
- Fluency in an additional language (e.g., French, German, Mandarin, Swahili).
- Experience with CRM software and travel management systems.
