Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Travel Nurse to join our team, serving various healthcare facilities in and around Vernon, British Columbia. Each assignment typically lasts between 8 to 13 weeks, with potential for extension or new placements, giving you the flexibility to explore different facets of nursing and healthcare settings. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, meticulously monitoring vital signs, and accurately documenting patient information. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care according to established nursing standards, policies, and procedures of the assigned facility.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all interventions and patient responses.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, promptly reporting any significant changes to the medical team.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medication regimens, and self-care techniques to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient medical records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and confidentiality standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various nursing procedures and the operation of medical equipment relevant to the assigned specialty area.
- Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and clean environment for patients, strictly adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Act as a compassionate patient advocate, ensuring patient rights and preferences are respected and upheld at all times.
- Adapt quickly and effectively to new clinical environments, healthcare systems, and interdisciplinary team dynamics across different placements.
Required Skills
- Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license in British Columbia or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, diverse healthcare team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven adaptability and flexibility to thrive in varied clinical settings and patient populations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Experience with multiple electronic health record (EHR) platforms.
- Previous travel nursing experience across different facilities or regions.
- Specialty certification relevant to areas like ER, ICU, Med-Surg, or OR.
- Fluency in additional languages.
