Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Tree Lopper to join our esteemed client’s team, operating within the picturesque Altstadt of Nuremberg and its surrounding regions. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the beautification and ecological health of one of Germany’s historic cities. As a Tree Lopper, you will be instrumental in maintaining the vitality and safety of urban trees, performing essential services that range from precision pruning to complex tree removals. You will work within diverse environments, from public parks and private estates to commercial properties, ensuring the structural integrity, aesthetic appeal, and hazard mitigation of trees.

Your daily tasks will involve operating a variety of specialized equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial work platforms, with an unwavering commitment to safety protocols. We are looking for individuals who possess a strong understanding of tree biology, pest and disease identification, and the best practices for promoting long-term tree health. This role requires not only technical proficiency but also a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a skilled team. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform tree pruning, trimming, and shaping to improve tree health, structure, and appearance.
  • Conduct hazardous tree removal using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other arboricultural tools and machinery.
  • Work safely and efficiently at heights using ladders, ropes, and aerial work platforms (e.g., cherry pickers).
  • Assess tree health, identify diseases, pests, and structural defects.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare work sites, including setting up safety barriers and managing traffic flow.
  • Clean up work sites thoroughly, including chipping branches and disposing of debris.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in tree lopping, pruning, and removal techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating chainsaws, chippers, and other arboricultural equipment.
  • Strong understanding of tree biology, growth patterns, and common diseases/pests.
  • Excellent physical stamina, agility, and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications in arboriculture (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist, European Tree Worker).
  • Valid Class B (or equivalent) driver's license, ideally with trailer endorsement.
  • Experience operating aerial work platforms (e.g., MEWP certification).
  • Knowledge of German local regulations regarding tree care and removal.
  • Familiarity with rope access and climbing techniques.
