Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport freight and goods across various routes within Mauritius.
- Adhere strictly to all national and company driving laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all systems are in good working order.
- Secure cargo properly for safe transit, preventing damage or shifting during transportation.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and all necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling of cargo.
- Represent the company and its partners professionally at all times.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
Required Skills
- Valid Heavy Duty Driving License (e.g., Private Bus/Goods Vehicle/Heavy Duty Vehicle).
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver, specifically with freight and goods transportation.
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian road networks and traffic regulations.
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
