Career.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and experienced Truck Drivers to join our growing team in Roath, Cardiff. This pivotal role involves both long-distance hauls and local deliveries, ensuring the timely and safe transport of goods across a diverse range of routes. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy goods vehicles for long-distance and local deliveries, adhering to all road safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, reporting any defects promptly.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securement of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details using digital tachograph and company systems.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members, providing updates on delivery status and potential delays.
- Perform minor routine vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure) and escalate major issues to maintenance.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods while prioritizing safety and compliance with scheduled routes.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times, maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including health and safety guidelines.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and digital records accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Active Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in long-distance and local goods transportation.
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations, driving laws, and working time directives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to complete paperwork and digital records accurately and efficiently.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including loading/unloading and vehicle checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of cargo, temperature-controlled transport, and trailer systems.
- A clean driving record with no major endorsements or penalty points.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
