Key Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for both long-distance and local deliveries.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects.
- Ensure goods are safely loaded, secured, and unloaded according to company procedures.
- Adhere to all road transport regulations, driving hours, and health & safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logbooks, and complete necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and colleagues.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times.
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently to meet deadlines.
Required Skills
- Valid UK HGV (Class 1 or 2) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Proven experience as an HGV driver (minimum 2 years).
- Excellent knowledge of road transport legislation and highway code.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK, especially the South West.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading and vehicle checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various vehicle types or specialized loads.
- Forklift licence (e.g., counterbalance, reach).
- First Aid certification.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience with refrigerated transport or hazardous goods.
