Job Description

The role of TV Presenter – Broadcasting, Anchor at Career.zycto is an exciting opportunity for a charismatic and articulate individual to become a pivotal figure in our news and current affairs programming. Key Responsibilities

  • Present live and pre-recorded television programs, news segments, and special broadcasts with professionalism and engaging delivery.
  • Research topics, interview subjects, and current events thoroughly to ensure accurate and informed reporting.
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and editorial staff to develop scripts, segment ideas, and program content.
  • Conduct engaging and insightful interviews with guests, experts, and public figures, ensuring respectful and informative dialogue.
  • Ad-lib and adapt to unscripted situations during live broadcasts with composure, clarity, and quick thinking.
  • Maintain an objective, balanced, and ethical journalistic approach in all reporting and commentary.
  • Represent the company at public events, community engagements, and press conferences, promoting our brand and values.
  • Utilize social media and digital platforms to promote programs, engage with viewers, and gather feedback.
  • Provide professional voice-overs and narration for various productions as required.
  • Stay continuously informed on local, national, and international news and current affairs, maintaining a broad general knowledge.
  • Participate in editorial meetings, contributing creative ideas for program development and segment planning.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional on-air presence and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to read teleprompters accurately and engage naturally with cameras.
  • Excellent interviewing and conversational abilities, including active listening.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills for factual and unbiased reporting.
  • Ability to think on your feet and improvise effectively during live broadcasts, handling unexpected situations gracefully.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment in all aspects of work.
  • Proficiency in English and Mauritian Creole (both written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Composure under pressure and ability to meet tight deadlines in a live broadcast setting.
  • Clear diction and a pleasant, authoritative speaking voice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a TV presenter, news anchor, or broadcast journalist for at least 3 years.
  • Proficiency in French (both written and spoken) is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated portfolio or showreel of previous on-air work showcasing versatility and talent.
  • Experience with various broadcasting technologies, studio equipment, and non-linear editing software.
  • Understanding of media law and ethics specific to Mauritius.
