Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) is seeking a talented and motivated UI Designer to join our dynamic team in Letlhakane, Central District. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual and interactive aspects of our diverse range of digital products, including web platforms, mobile applications, and internal tools. You’ll work closely with product managers, UX researchers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to translate complex requirements into elegant, accessible, and engaging user interfaces. Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and design systems.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop high-fidelity prototypes and mockups to illustrate design solutions and gather early feedback.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate on solutions.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring scalability and consistency across all digital products.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies, actively seeking opportunities to improve our design processes and outputs.
- Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders, incorporating feedback gracefully and constructively.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI design projects, demonstrating a keen eye for aesthetics and user-centered design principles.
- Solid understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience in designing for responsive web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
- Ability to articulate design rationale clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with motion graphics or animation for UI.
- Basic understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG).
