Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, accept, decline, or modify applications for insurance coverage based on comprehensive risk assessment criteria.
- Analyse complex financial information, medical records, and other data points to accurately determine risk levels.
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to brokers, agents, and internal teams, providing thorough explanations.
- Ensure strict adherence to company underwriting guidelines, policies, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and agents, meticulously balancing risk exposure with market competitiveness.
- Participate actively in the development and continuous enhancement of underwriting processes and product offerings.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and up-to-date documentation of all underwriting activities and decisions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal communication) to a professional standard.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as an Underwriter in the financial services or insurance industry.
