Career.zycto is seeking a talented and dedicated Urban Planner to join our thriving team in Oberhausen. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on urban development trends, demographic data, land use patterns, and environmental impacts.
  • Develop and present urban planning proposals, master plans, zoning ordinances, and regulatory amendments.
  • Manage projects from conceptualization through implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate and lead public consultation processes, stakeholder engagement meetings, and community workshops.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documents for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, environmental specialists, and other consultants on integrated urban development projects.
  • Ensure all planning activities comply with local, regional, and national planning regulations and policies.
  • Utilize GIS, CAD, and other relevant software for spatial analysis, mapping, and design visualization.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients and municipal authorities on urban planning matters.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in urban planning, land use planning, or regional development.
  • Strong understanding of German planning law (BauGB) and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in stakeholder engagement and public presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Architecture, Geography, or a related field.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in a relevant professional planning association (e.g., Architektenkammer Nordrhein-Westfalen – AKNW).
  • Experience with sustainable urban development practices and climate resilience planning.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Knowledge of urban design principles and placemaking strategies.
