Job Description
Are you a budding UX enthusiast with a passion for understanding user behavior and an eye for detail? Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is seeking a highly motivated and analytical UX Research Assistant to join our innovative remote team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge digital products and services that impact millions across Zimbabwe. As a UX Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our UX Researchers in gathering, analyzing, and presenting valuable insights into user needs, motivations, and behaviors. You will assist in conducting various research activities, from user interviews and usability testing to surveys and competitive analysis, all while working collaboratively with product, design, and engineering teams from your remote base in Victoria Falls. This role requires a blend of curiosity, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to advocating for the user throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, recruiting participants for, and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research studies, including interviews, surveys, usability tests, and diary studies.
 - Support the creation of research artifacts such as user personas, journey maps, empathy maps, and comprehensive research reports.
 - Help analyze research data, identify key themes, patterns, and insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations for product and design teams.
 - Prepare and organize all research materials, including interview guides, consent forms, stimuli for testing, and logistical arrangements.
 - Collaborate effectively with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to ensure research findings are clearly understood and successfully incorporated into product development cycles.
 - Maintain and regularly update a centralized repository of research data, findings, and insights for easy access and knowledge sharing.
 - Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify industry trends, best practices, and opportunities for innovation.
 - Participate actively in brainstorming sessions and design critiques, consistently providing a user-centered perspective to guide decisions.
 - Document research methodologies and findings clearly and concisely, preparing compelling summaries for various stakeholders.
 - Contribute to the continuous improvement of our UX research processes and tools.
 
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of UX research methodologies (e.g., qualitative interviews, usability testing, surveys).
 - Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, basic spreadsheet software).
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings effectively to diverse audiences.
 - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment, managing time and tasks efficiently.
 - Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
 - Familiarity with digital product development lifecycles and an agile working environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Anthropology, Sociology, Marketing, or a related field.
 - Prior experience (academic, internship, or professional) in UX research, market research, or data analysis.
 - Familiarity with design thinking principles and agile development methodologies.
 - Experience with UX research tools like UserTesting, Maze, Optimal Workshop, or similar platforms.
 - A portfolio showcasing any relevant research projects, case studies, or analytical work.
