Job Description

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Vaccination Support Aide to join our vital public health initiatives in Riua, Inhambane City. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and dismantle of vaccination sites, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready and stored properly.
- Manage patient flow at vaccination clinics, directing individuals and groups to appropriate areas, maintaining order, and minimizing wait times.
- Conduct patient registration, accurately collecting and recording demographic information and vaccination history.
- Provide basic information to patients and their families regarding the vaccination process, its benefits, and potential side effects, under the guidance of medical staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vaccination area, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Monitor and replenish vaccination supplies, including vaccines, syringes, cotton swabs, and other necessary materials, and report shortages.
- Assist with data entry and record-keeping related to vaccinations administered, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
- Support community outreach efforts by helping to disseminate information about vaccination schedules and locations.
- Adhere strictly to MSF's protocols, infection prevention and control guidelines, and ethical standards at all times.
- Provide compassionate support to patients, particularly children and fearful individuals, to ensure a positive vaccination experience.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a support role, preferably in a healthcare or community setting.
- Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken) and local languages relevant to Inhambane City (e.g., Gitonga, Chopi).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and potentially challenging field environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with NGOs or international humanitarian organizations.
- Basic knowledge of public health principles or vaccination programs.
- First Aid certification.
