Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive MOT inspections on a variety of vehicles in accordance with DVSA guidelines.
- Perform detailed visual and diagnostic checks to identify faults, wear, and potential safety hazards.
- Accurately record all inspection findings, including defects and advisories, using digital systems.
- Ensure all work adheres strictly to regulatory compliance and internal quality control standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with service advisors regarding vehicle condition and necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the inspection bay.
- Stay updated with changes in MOT regulations, vehicle technology, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Valid DVSA MOT Tester certification (Classes 4 & 7 minimum).
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Inspector or MOT Tester (at least 3 years).
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and automotive systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Strong understanding of automotive health and safety regulations.
- Ability to accurately complete documentation and use computer-based inspection systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional DVSA MOT Tester classes (e.g., Class 5).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Experience with diagnostic equipment and software.
- Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models.
- Full UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
