Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Vehicle Inspector – MOT & Compliance to join one of our esteemed automotive partners in Middleton, Manchester. This pivotal role involves conducting thorough vehicle inspections, ensuring all vehicles meet the rigorous safety and environmental standards mandated by the MOT scheme and wider industry regulations. You will be responsible for meticulously examining various vehicle components, identifying faults, and accurately documenting all findings. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive MOT inspections on a variety of vehicles in accordance with DVSA guidelines.
  • Perform detailed visual and diagnostic checks to identify faults, wear, and potential safety hazards.
  • Accurately record all inspection findings, including defects and advisories, using digital systems.
  • Ensure all work adheres strictly to regulatory compliance and internal quality control standards.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with service advisors regarding vehicle condition and necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the inspection bay.
  • Stay updated with changes in MOT regulations, vehicle technology, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Valid DVSA MOT Tester certification (Classes 4 & 7 minimum).
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Inspector or MOT Tester (at least 3 years).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and automotive systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
  • Strong understanding of automotive health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to accurately complete documentation and use computer-based inspection systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional DVSA MOT Tester classes (e.g., Class 5).
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models.
  • Full UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
