Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Part-Time Vet Nurse to join a thriving veterinary practice in the picturesque coastal town of Warnemünde, Rostock, through Career.zycto. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, consultations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery, recording vital signs.
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures, including blood draws, urinalysis, and fecal analysis.
  • Prepare surgical suites and instruments, ensuring sterilization and cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Educate pet owners on preventative care, nutrition, medication administration, and post-operative instructions.
  • Provide empathetic support to clients, especially during sensitive situations.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  • Ensure the clinic environment remains clean, organized, and safe for patients, clients, and staff.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.

Required Skills

  • Certified Veterinary Nurse (or equivalent recognized qualification)
  • Proven experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting
  • Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and pharmacology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform basic laboratory tests
  • Competence in maintaining sterile environments and assisting in surgery
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care and client interactions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in German (required for client communication in Germany)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with veterinary software systems (e.g., easyVET, VetZ)
  • Specialized training or interest in a particular area of veterinary medicine (e.g., dentistry, emergency care)
  • First aid certification for animals
  • Knowledge of digital radiography and ultrasound procedures
  • Ability to speak English (beneficial for diverse client base)
