Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately during treatments and diagnostics.
- Prepare examination rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and sterilized.
- Monitor hospitalized patients, record observations, and report changes to veterinary staff.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform laboratory duties, including collecting samples, running basic diagnostic tests, and preparing samples for external labs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with client communication regarding animal care and follow-up instructions.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and clinic facilities to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and ensuring proper storage.
- Provide basic client education on pet nutrition, preventative care, and medication administration.
- Handle phone inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage client check-ins/check-outs efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy for animals and clients.
