Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Perform safe and compassionate animal restraint for various procedures and handling.
- Prepare examination rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas, ensuring they are clean and stocked.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and other medical equipment.
- Provide basic patient care, including feeding, walking, and monitoring hospitalized animals.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including preparing samples for in-house testing or external labs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including observations and treatments.
- Educate clients on routine pet care, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care.
- Manage inventory and ensure supplies are adequately stocked, alerting management to ordering needs.
- Perform general clinic housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinic setting.
- Proven ability to safely and effectively restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with colleagues and clients.
