Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately for various procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms, surgical suites, and kennels.
  • Prepare laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic imaging.
  • Dispense medications under direct supervision and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals, including feeding and monitoring.
  • Educate clients on basic pet care, post-procedure instructions, and preventive health.
  • Manage client check-ins, answer phones, and assist with general administrative tasks.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Profound compassion and empathy for animals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with animal care (volunteer, personal pet ownership, etc.).
  • Certification in animal first aid or CPR.
  • Familiarity with basic veterinary terminology (will be taught).
