Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble recorded raw material into a suitable, finished product ready for distribution across various platforms.
  • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience, maintaining seamless continuity.
  • Review shooting scripts and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scene value and contribution to the overall narrative.
  • Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance visual and auditory storytelling.
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final video product.
  • Consult with stakeholders from the initial production phase through the post-production process to align on vision and deliverables.
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency and elevate production quality.
  • Manage and organize video libraries and project files efficiently, ensuring easy access and archival.

Required Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio (2+ years).
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling principles.
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing techniques.
  • Creative mind and exceptional storytelling abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take direction and provide creative input.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet flexible deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, Media Production, or a related creative field.
  • Experience with motion graphics (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
  • Knowledge of color correction and audio mixing techniques.
  • Professional portfolio showcasing diverse video editing projects and styles.
