Key Responsibilities
- Assist producers and videographers with all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production tasks, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently.
- Set up, operate, and dismantle video, lighting, and audio equipment for various studio and challenging on-location shoots, adhering to technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Organize, maintain, and inventory all production equipment, ensuring all gear is in excellent working condition and readily available for scheduled productions.
- Log, organize, and back up raw footage meticulously, ensuring proper file management, metadata tagging, and accessibility for editing teams.
- Provide essential support during editing sessions, including performing basic editing tasks, managing media assets, and preparing files for various export formats.
- Coordinate logistical details for shoots, including arranging transportation, scheduling talent, and assisting with the securing of necessary permits and clearances.
- Conduct thorough research for scripts, locations, visual assets, and other production elements to enhance content quality.
- Assist with general administrative duties related to production, ensuring smooth departmental operations and effective communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall production needs and creative vision of Hype TV.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in operating professional video cameras (DSLRs, mirrorless, broadcast cameras) and associated accessories.
- Solid understanding of lighting techniques for various shoot environments, including studio, outdoor, and interview setups.
- Familiarity with professional audio recording equipment, including various microphones, mixers, and audio capture devices.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of video editing software, with a strong preference for Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as production schedules demand.
- A valid Jamaican driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree/diploma in Film, Television Production, Media Studies, or a closely related field.
- Experience with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects) and basic animation principles.
- Knowledge of various camera formats, codecs, and their implications for post-production workflows.
- Previous experience in a similar production role, whether professional, volunteer, or intern-based.
