Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Videographer Video Editor to join our growing team in Madaraka, Nairobi. This pivotal role involves the full spectrum of video production, from conceptualization and shooting to post-production editing. The ideal candidate will be a storyteller at heart, capable of translating complex ideas into engaging visual content across various platforms, including corporate communications, marketing campaigns, event highlights, and social media. You will be responsible for operating professional video equipment, setting up lighting and audio, directing talent, and expertly editing footage to produce polished, high-quality final products. We are looking for someone who is not only proficient with industry-standard editing software but also possesses an artistic flair for visual composition, motion graphics, and sound design. This role demands a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced creative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and direct high-quality video content for various clients and internal projects, including corporate videos, event coverage, interviews, and promotional materials.
  • Operate and maintain professional video cameras, audio recording equipment, lighting gear, and other production tools.
  • Set up and manage lighting and sound for studio and on-location shoots to ensure optimal visual and audio quality.
  • Develop creative concepts, storyboards, and scripts in collaboration with clients and the production team.
  • Edit raw footage into polished, engaging final videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other relevant software.
  • Incorporate motion graphics, special effects, music, sound effects, and voice-overs to enhance video quality and impact.
  • Ensure brand consistency, adherence to client guidelines, and technical specifications for all video outputs.
  • Manage and organize media assets, including footage, audio, and project files.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in videography and video editing.
  • Provide creative input and recommendations throughout the production process to optimize project outcomes.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy, technical correctness, and overall excellence of finished products.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in professional video cameras and equipment operation.
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Strong understanding of video production principles, including composition, lighting, and sound.
  • Excellent storytelling and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Portfolio demonstrating videography and video editing work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Arts, Communication, or a related field.
  • Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite applications (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition).
  • Familiarity with drones and aerial videography.
  • Experience with 3D animation or advanced motion graphics.
  • Ability to speak Swahili in addition to English.
