Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Richards Bay. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
  • Conduct thorough orientation and comprehensive training sessions for new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles, responsibilities, and our organizational values.
  • Skillfully match volunteers with appropriate roles and projects based on their unique skills, interests, and program needs.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date volunteer database and records, including contact information, hours contributed, and assignment details.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all events, programs, and ongoing activities.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and constructive feedback to volunteers, fostering a positive and empowering environment.
  • Organize and execute volunteer appreciation events and recognition activities to acknowledge their invaluable contributions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all volunteer inquiries, concerns, and feedback, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor volunteer performance and engagement, implementing strategies for continuous improvement and retention.
  • Actively assist with program planning and evaluation, offering a crucial volunteer perspective to enhance our initiatives.
  • Ensure strict compliance with organizational policies, safety regulations, and all relevant legislative requirements related to volunteer engagement.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a valued team member.
  • High level of empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for community service and development.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in coordinating people, projects, or events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of the Richards Bay community and its local non-profit landscape.
  • Fluency in both isiZulu and English to better serve our diverse community.
