Job Description

Botle Botle Resort is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Waiter Assistant to join our dynamic food and beverage team. As a Waiter Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role, working closely with our Waiters and the culinary team to ensure seamless service delivery. Your primary focus will be on preparing the dining area, assisting with food and beverage service, and maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards. You will be instrumental in creating a welcoming atmosphere, anticipating guest needs, and responding promptly to requests, all while upholding the high standards of Botle Botle Resort. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining areas for service, including setting tables, polishing cutlery and glassware, and ensuring all condiments are stocked.
  • Assist waiters with taking orders, serving food and beverages, and clearing tables efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, and back-of-house areas throughout service.
  • Replenish supplies, including napkins, sauces, and other dining essentials, as needed.
  • Handle guest requests and inquiries promptly and courteously, escalating complex issues to the waiter or supervisor.
  • Support the kitchen staff by ensuring timely delivery of food to tables and assisting with dishwashing when required.
  • Learn and adhere to all resort policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with the entire food and beverage team to ensure a cohesive and positive dining experience.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling event spaces for private functions or special dining events.
  • Communicate guest feedback and observations to the team to continuously improve service quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or resort setting as a busser, food runner, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic food and beverage service etiquette.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak Sesotho is an advantage.
