Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill is currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Waiter to become an integral part of our dynamic Food & Beverage team. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and elegantly, ensuring correct presentation and temperature.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate as necessary.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, adhering to all hotel policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other service team members.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Waiter/Waitress, preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant setting.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of Swahili is a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and service.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field.
- Experience with POS systems (e.g., Micros, Opera).
- Knowledge of various cuisines, wines, and spirits.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
