Job Description
Are you a seasoned and passionate hospitality professional with a keen eye for detail and a knack for inspiring teams? Maliba Mountain Lodge is actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Waiter Supervisor to lead our exceptional front-of-house team. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the waitstaff, ensuring efficient and high-quality service.
- Train new waitstaff on service standards, menu knowledge, point-of-sale systems, and guest relations.
- Conduct regular briefings with the team to communicate daily specials, events, and service expectations.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, respond to feedback, and resolve any service-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as lodge standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
- Oversee table settings, dining area presentation, and overall ambiance to maintain a 5-star standard.
- Manage inventory of dining supplies, including cutlery, crockery, linens, and beverages, and report needs.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and timely food delivery.
- Assist with scheduling, performance reviews, and general team management.
- Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional customer service and a positive attitude at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a high-end restaurant or hotel dining environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Thorough understanding of food and beverage operations, including service sequences and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Sesotho is a significant advantage.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with fine dining protocols and wine service.
