This role calls for an energetic and customer-focused individual to join a dynamic restaurant team in Runda, Nairobi, on a part-time basis. As a Waiter/Waitress, you will be the face of our partner establishment, playing a crucial role in delivering an outstanding dining experience for every guest. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greeting and seating guests upon arrival, presenting menus, and informing them of daily specials.
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing point-of-sale (POS) systems, and relaying them to the kitchen staff promptly.
- Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely, courteous, and professional manner, ensuring correct table placement and presentation.
- Anticipating guest needs and responding to requests efficiently and politely, ensuring a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
- Handling guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including tables, service stations, and dining room sections.
- Processing payments accurately using various methods, including cash, credit cards, and mobile money.
- Collaborating effectively with kitchen staff, baristas, and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assisting with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas, restocking supplies, and general cleaning tasks.
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as the restaurant's service standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating bills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) as a Waiter/Waitress or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Knowledge of basic food and beverage terminology.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to converse in Swahili and English fluently.
