Job Description

Univar Solutions UK Ltd is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Admin Assistant with a focus on Stock Control to join our dynamic team in Eccles, Manchester. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring efficient stock movement, and providing critical administrative support to our warehouse operations.

As a Warehouse Admin Assistant, you will be at the heart of our stock control processes, working closely with warehouse operatives, team leaders, and other departments to ensure data integrity and operational excellence. Your daily tasks will involve meticulously managing inventory data, processing stock adjustments, reconciling discrepancies, and generating key reports that inform critical business decisions. This role requires an individual with exceptional data entry skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a busy, hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock movements, ensuring data integrity within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Perform regular stock checks, cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies to ensure physical stock matches system records.
  • Process stock adjustments, transfers, and returns efficiently and accurately.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock control reports for management review.
  • Provide administrative support to the warehouse management team, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Assist with order processing and dispatch documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse operatives, drivers, and other internal departments regarding stock queries and operational updates.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (for data manipulation and reporting).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Understanding of stock control principles and inventory management best practices.
  • A-Levels or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in the chemical distribution or related industrial sector.
