Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Efficiently store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring optimal space utilization, proper stacking, and adherence to inventory rotation (FIFO) principles.
- Precisely pick and pack customer orders according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and readiness for outgoing shipments.
- Safely operate various warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (with proper certification) to move and retrieve stock.
- Assist with regular inventory counts, stock reconciliations, and report any discrepancies promptly to the supervisor.
- Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and safe working environment, strictly adhering to all company health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Support logistics and distribution teams with diverse tasks, including loading/unloading vehicles and preparing consignment notes.
- Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety hazards immediately to management.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure daily operational targets are met or exceeded.
- Prepare goods for dispatch, including accurate labelling, documentation, and staging for transport.
- Conduct routine checks on warehouse equipment and report any maintenance needs.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong organizational skills and an acute attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for inventory counting and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a contributing member of a team.
- Adherence to all safety procedures and guidelines in a warehouse environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Certificate (SC/HSC) or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Previous experience (1-2 years) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment.
- Valid forklift operator's license and experience (or a strong willingness to obtain certification through company training).
- Familiarity with basic inventory management systems or hand-held scanners.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene protocols.
