Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and system reconciliation.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
- Monitor and optimise workflow processes to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinate with logistics partners and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment and delivery.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Operate and oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other machinery.
- Resolve operational issues and address employee concerns promptly and effectively.
- Assist in planning and forecasting warehouse capacity requirements and resource allocation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse supervisory or assistant management role.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and enforce health and safety standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck).
- Experience with Lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies in a warehouse setting.
- A formal qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
