Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Full-Time Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Mashonaland West Province. This critical role involves the safe and efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of materials within our bustling warehouse facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including counterbalance and reach trucks, to load and unload delivery vehicles, stack and unstack goods, and transport items to and from designated storage areas. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth flow of goods, maintain accurate inventory records, and uphold the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift license, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and an unwavering commitment to workplace safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve products and materials.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing delivery trucks and containers, ensuring accurate counts and proper documentation.
  • Transport goods to and from production areas, storage racks, and shipping docks.
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and health regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and contribute to maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Identify and report any damaged products or equipment immediately.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and meet operational targets.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as required.

Required Skills

  • Valid Forklift Operator Certification/License.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate various types of forklifts.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to read and understand shipping documents.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25kg, stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Prior experience in the food manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
