As a Warehouse Operative, you will engage in a variety of essential tasks that underpin our operational success. You will be responsible for picking and packing orders with precision, preparing them for dispatch, and conducting final quality checks to guarantee that every shipment meets our stringent standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, ensuring accuracy against delivery notes and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
  • Efficiently and safely store goods in designated warehouse locations, optimising space and accessibility.
  • Accurately pick and pack orders according to client specifications, ensuring correct quantities and product types.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including labelling, scanning, and loading onto transport vehicles.
  • Operate various warehouse equipment, such as pallet trucks or forklifts (if certified), safely and proficiently.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stocktaking activities to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised warehouse environment, adhering to all health and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or stock discrepancies promptly to supervisors.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably with goods handling responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items safely and repeatedly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Basic computer literacy for inventory management systems.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift truck licence (Reach or Counterbalance).
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • First aid certification.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced distribution centre.
