Job Description

SPAR Lowveld Distribution Centre is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as an Entry Level Warehouse Packer. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the logistics and retail distribution industry. As a Warehouse Packer, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently packing various products according to specific order requirements, ensuring that goods are ready for dispatch to our numerous SPAR retail outlets. You will work within a supportive team, contributing to the smooth operation of our distribution centre and playing a key role in delivering quality products to our customers. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately select and pack products from designated warehouse locations according to picking lists and customer orders.
 - Inspect products for quality and damage, reporting any discrepancies to supervisors.
 - Ensure packed items are correctly labelled and prepared for shipment.
 - Operate basic warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, once trained and certified).
 - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
 - Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
 - Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity targets.
 - Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
 
Required Skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
 - Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) comfortably and repeatedly.
 - Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
 - Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
 - Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
 - Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
 - Previous experience in a warehouse or similar physical role is a plus, but not required.
 - Knowledge of basic inventory procedures.
