Key Responsibilities
- Accurately picking and packing goods according to order specifications, ensuring correct quantities and product types.
- Performing thorough quality checks on products before packing to identify any damages, discrepancies, or expiry issues.
- Labelling packages correctly and preparing them for secure shipment or organized storage within the warehouse.
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, strictly adhering to appropriate manual handling techniques or operating warehouse equipment after training.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse at all times, including sweeping, tidying, and waste disposal.
- Adhering strictly to all health, safety, and operational procedures, guidelines, and company policies.
- Operating warehouse equipment (e.g., manual pallet jacks, trolleys) responsibly and safely after receiving proper training.
- Collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily packing, receiving, and dispatch targets.
- Assisting with inventory management activities, including regular stock counting, stock rotation (FIFO), and physical verification as required.
- Reporting any stock discrepancies, damages, or potential safety hazards to the immediate supervisor promptly and accurately.
- Contributing to a positive, productive, and respectful team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions precisely.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) regularly throughout the shift.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels, checking quantities, and basic record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Unwavering commitment to adhering to safety regulations and operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or retail stock-handling environment.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse operations and inventory management procedures.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or similar material handling equipment.
- A valid driver’s license (Code B or higher) could be an advantage for potential future career progression, though not strictly required for this specific role.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
