Job Description
Kirk Distributors Ltd. is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Warehouse Sanitation Aide to join our team in Liguanea, Kingston. This part-time position is crucial for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within our bustling warehouse facility. As a Warehouse Sanitation Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our operational spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness, which directly contributes to product quality, employee safety, and overall operational efficiency.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of cleaning tasks, from sweeping and mopping floors to sanitizing surfaces, managing waste, and ensuring the proper disposal of materials. You will be an integral part of our operations, helping to uphold the pristine conditions necessary for handling and storing a wide array of products. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and sanitization duties throughout the warehouse, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas within the facility.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste segregation and disposal in designated areas.
- Clean and maintain warehouse equipment, tools, and machinery as required.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting any shortages to the supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and health regulations.
- Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damaged equipment immediately to management.
- Assist with periodic deep cleaning projects and special cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are conducted with minimal disruption to warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and pushing/pulling.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, industrial, or commercial cleaning role.
- Understanding of HACCP or similar sanitation guidelines (beneficial but not required).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
