As a Warehouse Shipping Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of our daily operations, ensuring packages and freight are handled with care and precision, from their arrival at our facility to their dispatch for delivery. You’ll gain hands-on experience with sorting, scanning, loading, and unloading, contributing directly to the efficient flow of goods that connect businesses and consumers across the country. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of various packages and freight, both manually and using appropriate equipment.
- Sort and stage packages according to destination, ensuring accurate placement and preparation for outbound shipments.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests or other records for accuracy.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.
- Perform general warehouse duties as required to support efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 70 lbs) frequently throughout an entire shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and scanning.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a general labour or physical role is an asset.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety practices.
