Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
  • Manage and supervise a team of warehouse operatives, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control through regular cycle counts, stock takes, and diligent use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Optimise dispatch processes to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements efficiently.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Identify process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Handle and resolve operational issues, discrepancies, and customer queries in a timely manner.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role in a logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and dispatch procedures.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Warehousing & Storage or equivalent qualification.
  • Forklift truck licence (reach and counterbalance).
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
