Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
- Manage and supervise a team of warehouse operatives, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through regular cycle counts, stock takes, and diligent use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Optimise dispatch processes to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements efficiently.
- Implement and enforce health and safety procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Identify process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Handle and resolve operational issues, discrepancies, and customer queries in a timely manner.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role in a logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and dispatch procedures.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Warehousing & Storage or equivalent qualification.
- Forklift truck licence (reach and counterbalance).
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
