Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our logistics team in Buru Buru, Nairobi. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and system reconciliation.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and safety guidelines.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate and oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all incoming and outgoing goods.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control practices.
- Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to warehousing.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Forklift Operation or other relevant material handling equipment.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies or other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations.
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics (if applicable to company's operations).
