Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, conducting performance reviews and training.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and security standards within the warehouse environment.
- Manage inventory control, conduct regular stock counts, and ensure accuracy of records using WMS.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics activities with transport, procurement, and customer service teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and logistics metrics.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring regular checks and compliance with operational guidelines.
- Resolve operational issues and handle exceptions effectively and promptly, minimizing disruption.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in warehouse management and logistics supervision.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control methods and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in health and safety regulations pertinent to warehouse operations.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with specific WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl).
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Fluency in Swahili and English.
