Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, conducting performance reviews and training.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and security standards within the warehouse environment.
  • Manage inventory control, conduct regular stock counts, and ensure accuracy of records using WMS.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • Coordinate logistics activities with transport, procurement, and customer service teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and logistics metrics.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring regular checks and compliance with operational guidelines.
  • Resolve operational issues and handle exceptions effectively and promptly, minimizing disruption.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in warehouse management and logistics supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control methods and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in health and safety regulations pertinent to warehouse operations.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with specific WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl).
  • Valid forklift operator certification.
  • Fluency in Swahili and English.
