Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain collection vehicles on assigned routes.
- Collect residential and commercial waste and recycling materials according to established schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment daily.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws at all times.
- Load and unload waste materials, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding route conditions, issues, or missed pickups.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment, performing minor maintenance as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License (Class A or B CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures in a hazardous environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective part of a diverse team.
- Basic understanding of vehicle operation and routine maintenance checks.
