Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and sort incoming waste materials from public and commercial sources, ensuring proper segregation according to established guidelines.
- Operate and maintain waste compaction equipment, balers, and other light machinery (e.g., forklifts, skid steers) as required and certified.
- Guide facility users on correct waste disposal procedures and proper material separation, providing clear and courteous instructions.
- Monitor the facility for safety hazards, reporting and addressing issues promptly to ensure a safe working environment for all.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the facility grounds, equipment, and designated areas to uphold high operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of waste intake, outgoing materials, and any incidents or observations.
- Adhere strictly to all local, regional, and national health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the efficient loading and unloading of waste materials onto transport vehicles for further processing or disposal.
- Participate actively in ongoing training sessions, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg) regularly and perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of different waste types and effective segregation principles for recycling and disposal.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols and procedures, with a proactive attitude towards hazard identification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with the public, colleagues, and supervisors.

- Valid forklift operator's license or other relevant heavy machinery certifications.
- In-depth knowledge of local waste management regulations and guidelines in Siegen/Nordrhein-Westfalen.
- Basic First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience with basic record-keeping and data entry for operational logs.
