Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine chemical and microbiological testing of water samples.
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain water treatment plant equipment, including pumps, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Adjust chemical dosages and treatment processes to ensure water quality meets regulatory standards.
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions to ensure continuous plant performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of water quality data, plant operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency response outside of regular hours.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Water Treatment Technician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes and technologies.
  • Proficiency in chemical testing and interpretation of results.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Excellent adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Valid UK Driving License.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Water Operations or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Willingness to undertake further professional development and training.
  • Experience with SCADA systems or other process control software.
  • Knowledge of Legionella control and other relevant water hygiene regulations.
