Exquisite Events Jamaica is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Wedding Decoration Helper to join our dynamic team in Pembroke Hall, St. Andrew. As a Wedding Decoration Helper, you will play a crucial role in bringing our clients’ dream wedding visions to life. You’ll assist our lead decorators with all aspects of setup and breakdown, ensuring every floral arrangement, drape, and lighting fixture is perfectly placed. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead decorators with the transportation, setup, and dismantling of event decorations, including floral arrangements, centerpieces, lighting, linens, and props.
  • Prepare decor elements prior to events, which may include cleaning, polishing, assembling, and organizing materials.
  • Support on-site setup by carefully following design plans, ensuring accurate placement and aesthetic appeal of all decorative items.
  • Provide support during events as needed, including minor adjustments or touch-ups to decor.
  • Efficiently and carefully pack up all decor items post-event, ensuring safe storage and transportation to our facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, tools, and inventory both on-site and at the storage facility.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company guidelines during setup, execution, and breakdown processes.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless and timely event execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the decor team and ensure overall event success.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry decorative items weighing up to 30 lbs comfortably and safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and visual arrangement.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during event setup and breakdown.
  • Basic understanding of event decor principles or a strong willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Positive attitude, proactive approach, and a strong eagerness to contribute to celebratory events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in event setup, floral arranging, retail merchandising, or a related hands-on creative field is a significant plus.
  • A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation to various event locations within St. Andrew and surrounding areas.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
  • Demonstrated creativity and a genuine passion for design and event aesthetics.
  • Customer service-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
