Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative, organized, and deeply passionate Full-Time Wedding Planner to join our esteemed team, specifically serving our growing client base in Athi River, Nairobi and its environs. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of wedding planning and execution, from the initial client consultation to the meticulous post-event follow-up. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to comprehensively understand their vision, preferences, budget, and specific requirements for their special day.
  • Develop detailed wedding proposals, comprehensive timelines, and accurate budgets, ensuring strict adherence to client expectations and financial parameters.
  • Source, negotiate with, and expertly manage a diverse network of vendors, including venues, caterers, florists, photographers, videographers, musicians, and officiants.
  • Design and conceptualize unique wedding themes, sophisticated color palettes, and captivating décor elements, presenting visual mock-ups and mood boards to clients for approval.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of the wedding day, including setup, teardown, guest management, transportation, and proactive crisis resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the entire planning process, providing regular updates, expert guidance, and unwavering support.
  • Manage client contracts, invoices, and payment schedules in close collaboration with the finance department to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Oversee wedding rehearsals, ensuring all bridal party members, officiants, and relevant vendors are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technological innovations, and best practices in wedding planning and comprehensive event management.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, vendors, and key industry partners to foster repeat business and referrals.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Wedding Planner or Senior Event Coordinator, specifically in high-profile or large-scale events.
  • Exceptional organizational and meticulous project management abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and highly effective vendor management skills.
  • Innately creative flair and an artistic eye for aesthetics, design, and overall event ambiance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and superior client relation skills with a focus on empathy.
  • Proficiency in event planning software, CRM tools, and advanced Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude and ability to adapt quickly to unforeseen circumstances and challenges.
  • Proven ability to manage and adhere to budgets effectively while maximizing value.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Wedding Planning or Event Management from a recognized institution.
  • Fluency in both Swahili and English, allowing for seamless communication with diverse clientele and vendors.
  • An established and reputable network of local vendors and venues specifically within Athi River and the greater Nairobi area.
  • A professional portfolio showcasing previous wedding and event projects, demonstrating creativity and execution capabilities.
