Job Description
JPS is currently seeking a diligent and motivated Part-Time Welding Assistant to join our maintenance team based in Balaclava, St. Elizabeth. This role is crucial in supporting our skilled welders and technicians in various energy infrastructure projects and routine maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified welders and technicians with various welding and fabrication tasks.
- Prepare welding equipment and materials, including cleaning, grinding, and cutting metal components.
- Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from work sites safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform routine inspection and basic maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
- Support in the setup and dismantling of temporary structures or fixtures as required for welding operations.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the maintenance team.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools used in welding and construction.
- Ability to read and understand basic technical instructions and safety manuals.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions.
